2016 Rogers Cup Toronto: Quarter-finals

Canada’s Milos Raonic was eliminated in a close match by Gael Monfils of France.  Both used big serves to pin each other to the baseline, however it was the Frenchman that manged to get a break and win the first set.  With pressure on Raonic, he didn’t find a way to break Monfils game and let frustration get the best of him.  Monfils capitalized on Raonic’s mistakes and won the second set 6-4 to put him in a semi-final tomorrow evening versus Novak Djokovic.   Stan Wawrinka will face Kei Nishikori in the afternoon match.
